Remanufactured cartridges

Q: What is a remanufactured cartridge?

A: “Remanufactured” means recycled and refilled. When an initial cartridge runs out of ink to toner, it is disassembled and checked for wear. Worn or damaged parts are replaced, and the remaining parts are cleaned and reconditioned. Once these steps are completed, the cartridge is reassembled and filled with toner or ink. Every cartridge is then tested to insure that it shows the same performance as a brand new one.

Remanufactured cartridges are definitely better for the environment, as they don’t require the whole production cycle. They usually cost 10% to 20% less than the original ones, which is a good deal for consumers.

Q: Who produces remanufactured cartridges?

A: Vendors, such as Canon, Epson, Brother, etc., produce their brand-name new supplies. Remanufactured cartridges are produced by third-party, non-affiliated companies. We sell remanufactured cartridges that come from suppliers that have proved their quality standards.

Q: Is a remanufactured cartridge the same as a refurbished cartridge?

A: No, it is not. A refurbished cartridge was a defective cartridge that has been repaired and resold.

Remanufactured cartridges have never been defective. They simply ran out of ink or toner, were cleaned and refilled.

Q: Is the quality of a remanufactured cartridge lower than of an original one?

A: Every remanufactured cartridge is tested to provide the same performance as a brand new one. It also implies the same, or even higher, printing quality.

Q: Will my printer warranty be voided if I use remanufactured cartridges?

A: Your warranty will not be voided by using a compatible cartridge. It is illegal for manufacturers to require consumers to buy their brand-name cartridges.

 

Yield

Q: How long will the cartridge last?

A: The cartridge yield (the number of pages printed with a cartridge) highly depends on the printer usage pattern. The indicated yield refers to the “5% coverage”. This means that if all the printed characters were blended into one blot, the ink would cover 5% of the page, which usually equals to a full page of printed text. If you print images or graphs, the coverages goes up, and the yield correspondingly goes down.

Q: How often do I need to reorder the cartridges?

A: The frequency of reordering cartridges is strongly tied to the printing volumes. We recommend to replace your cartridges before they completely run out of toner: this will protect your printer.

Q: How long does a cartridge last if I don’t print many pages? How long can I store a purchased cartridge?

A: Your laser toner cartridge will last until it is entirely used for printing. It will not evaporate or dry out.

The same applies to the new cartridges: if you buy several cartridges on a special offer, you can safely store the excessive ones until you need them.


Choosing the right cartridge

Q: The cartridge does not fit into my printer, what should I do?

A: Check if you have purchased the right cartridge: your printer model should be listed on the packaging label. Have purchased a wrong one? No worries! Q: I have purchased a remanufactured cartridge, and my printer detects it as “empty”. What should I do?

A: This error may occur due to the previous settings of your printer. All you need to do is to reset the machine. You can find instructions on how to reset your printer by doing a simple google search. For Example "How to reset [Insert your printer model]"

Q: How long will it take to deliver the order?

A: Pit Stop Toner offers free shipping on all orders*. No minimum dollars spending or order size are required to be eligible for free shipping.

Ordering from our website means receiving your items in 2 to 5 business days.

Q: Can I return the purchased cartridge if I am not satisfied with the printing quality?

A: We apologize for any inconvenience that happened. We are offering a one-year return or replacement guarantee for all products that are at least 80% full. We believe in the quality of our toners and we believe that customers do not have to pay for returning back the product if they are not 100% satisfied. Pit Stop Toner will be responsible for providing you with a pre-paid shipping label to return the cartridges to us*.
